I'm about as left-brained as they get - an engineer and computer scientist by training and trade. My creativity is generally contained within well-defined limits. Thankfully, the visual tools provided by digital cameras and processing software enable me to start the creative process more or less mid-stream - with an image. I can then modify this image almost limitlessly. Having started in the days of film, trays of chemicals, and a darkroom I have learned enough about getting the initial image that sometimes I don't feel a need to modify it at all. Sometimes the image reveals a view that did not register in my mind's eye when I first captured it - serendipity indeed.
